Where are we with the SGM releases?  Looking forward to spinning these groundbreaking albums.

This year - as has been stated already. :]

Please on this board don't attack with deadlines - I work on everything at once and that means things come out spaced out from each other. They will be out this year, and I have no further info than that now. Wink Other records are coming out before them because they aren't fully ready yet.

My worry is that I am travelling and sometimes go weeks/months without internet. then some degenerate buys all the vinyl and sells them for stupid money on discogs so music loving hobos like me can't afford them. so, guys, be kind Wink
but yeah, hopefully people aren't such huge fans and (black) copies will stick around.

I always thought that if I were to start a label I would want to release these albums on vinyl. I would do a limited edition box set made of wood with the donkey from Grand Opening and Closing seared onto the front like a brand and give it a fancy lock in the side.

I can't wait to own these as records. I miss this band. Each time they came around I went to see them, talked with Nils several times at shows and got their logo as my first tattoo. Thankfully Free Salamander Exhibit exists and will hopefully have their album finished this year too. Maybe we will also see the final Sleepytime Gorilla Museum album soon as well.

You have nice taste. The live FSE stuff that Carl King posted was great, a little less serious and not so dramatically striking but I can't wait for an album. I always had a feeling the the fourth SGM was just a joke of theirs to tease people and keep us hanging on a promised legend, and the more time goes by the more I think this must be true as I even heard an excuse that they couldn't find a label (seriously?!). I would be happy to be proved wrong!

Thank you!  I am very certain that the fourth album exists to an extent, but there is also a final Idiot Flesh EP that exists and has been promised for over 10 years.  Only two tracks from it have seen the light of day (Let the Dog Sing and Monkey).  The last time I saw Sleepytime Gorilla Museum they played the some The Grey Pelican which Dan wrote in memory of his father who had recently passed away.  There is also a film called The Last Human Being which they are still working on which I have seen pieces of.  Plus I am pretty confident they are contractually obligated to do the last album with The End Records (maybe they were dropped though?) so I hope that is enough to get it to the public eventually.  That said I know they all have day jobs and I completely understand needing to provide for a family first.

Regardless, anything coming from that group of people is welcome in my book.  I always thought the Web of Mimicry would be the ones to release SGM on vinyl but I know Trey is busy with the Secret Chiefs so it is awesome to see Blood Music is the label giving them a proper release.
