Gonna taste that next month probably. It's waiting in the queue in the basement. There's at least 25 others that I have to try first.

Untappd is a real bitch of an app. You have to drink to beer because of that, lots of it. Damn it, haha

My problem these days is that I just grab whatever looks good, then I forget later what I've tried. :|

What is untappd? Do you just buy one of everything that Alko provides? Do I need to start ordering beer from abroad? These and other questions abound

Untapped is basically pokemon for beer. You check in each beer you have just to keep track. I'm at 618 unique beers (or somewhere around there)

I second that! Turns you into an alcoholic, especially when you're on holidays in a foreign country and pish your way through the lokal brews. Still one of my favorite apps tho! ;-) Great to keep track and rate the stuff you've tried.
One hundred billion dollars!

I got an iPhone last year and downloaded the app in the fall. Now I have 343 unique beers. Appr. 100 more unique ones waiting in the basement. Mostly 7-8% up, so that they survive a couple of years in the storage.

You can rate the beers by .25 points between 0-5. The app can provide you with recommendations based on what you like and you can use the app to locate certain beers and craft beer bars in your vicinity. You can check recommendations from your friends by checking their likes or what they have recently drunk. I'm not sure what else it does. It was just yesterday upgraded to Untappd 3.0

Untappd has basically all Finnish beers listed, even the new ones by small breweries / microbreweries. Based on the recommendations and the average vote by general public you can easily check whether a beer is worth trying or below average or even rather bad. That Pistolekors Porter has now 114 votes (only 114 because it is new and Finnish), and has an average of 3.51, so it sounds like rather good beer. Beers above 3 are generally ok, over 3.5 are good and worth trying, over 4 is fantastic.

I usually order from Saveur Biere or Boxbeers.com and Untappd ratings and recommendations have been very helpful and often very accurate when choosing which beers to order.

I had a Polar Monkeys Chair Man IPA today during lunch. Very good. I think it is the best of the Polar Monkeys.

Have you visited Il Birrificio when downtown? I guess not, as you don't really have any free time or energy after work.

Their own brews are great.

Fuck this is starting to sound expensive and health damaging, haha.

I haven't been to this place, been to Teerenpeli. There are also other places around downtown that serve Finnish microbrews on tap, but I tend to buy them bottled more often.

Fuck. Maybe I should just download this app, but I'm scared. :| I'm really not much of an app person.
