Or is it just about getting a nice collection of kickass albums that you can put on a display (that Perturbator vinyl is so nice!)

well for me its prob also because im from that time when you went down in the record store and went through all the albums. Enjoying the covers and that special feeling which is hard to describe. Like most i was amazed about cd and the sound quality of those and i still buy cds, but again i missed the vinyl. So yes i listen to the digital but theres still something special to put on a vinyl (that is if the sound is good, too many viinyl has veen pressed with inferiour sound and ends up just being a part of a collection like pic vinyl for instance.  So i guess its a bit of a lot of things. And yes today with all the colours  ect...it also makes it special and a nice addition to your colllection. Smile

I will have to trust your word till I get decent equipment. Had to try Dangerous Days for the first time (got it last friday) with my shitty setup now though and while I think it might have sounded a bit better, I can't exactly put on my finger on how.

I'm pretty uncivilized when it comes to sound, I will like the sound of something while my audiophile friend is reaching for the noose and the chair, so its not about the sound personally for me, although hearing the odd pop and crackle does seem to add to the atmosphere - at the end of the day I don't notice any difference, and my audio gear is not terribly flash so that helps in that regard

For me, its about the look and feel of it all, the larger records have huge amounts of real estate for cover artwork, and some artists will do "vinyl only" artworks that don't show up on the CD or digital version

Then there is the records themselves, I have a few picture disks, and the rest are all different colours, reds, blues, pink, Of course black, and even a pair of yellow records for my "Pixies - Best of Wave of Mutilation" LP - they just look and feel awesome - I even have a Green vinyl copy of Perturbator's "I am the Night" on order, and a Purple vinyl pre order of the new Perturbator album coming out though Blood Music which should be awesome Big Grin

The very talented Eija Risen, mastermind behind blackened doom band Eintritt recently threw this little number up on bandcamp. An unfinished abandoned project with the strange name of Broken Backbone it is quite a nice album which did show potential. The guy fair knows his way round a synth spanning numerous genre's and styles.

I think I will consider buying a vinyl player, as you guys have made some good points.

Bandcamp servers are so bad... I think I liked your profile on SoundCloud allready. Cool stuff there mate!

I'm sure that we have here some synth artists, how do you promote your music?

I don't know what your shitty setup but I listened my vinyl for years on TEAC radio-vinyl player with to anti skid, weight for the needle etc etc, and I could see a difference.

I gave it to my brother in law who spin the Blood Music Ensiferum on them and yeah, they sound much better than the CD Smile

Hopefully you will be able to find something nice soon Smile

On a synthwave note, I have lots of problem listening to Carperter Brut Trilogy, but I don't really know why....I listened to it a couple of times but it just not getting into my head..... I think I will try again this week-end ^^
