Damn!  It looks like the second pressing of "City" is basically already sold out from everyone - distributors had taken on a lot of copies and are all virtually gone and asking me for more.

Considering a third press on that album - pending approval from the label.

"Alien" has a few extra copies remaining so not sure if it needs another press.

Was considering whether "SYL" or "The New Black" should get the simple treatment for old times sake ... and if those plates are still on hand at the plant, not sure.

Thoughts?

You may get bites on TNB but SYL really seems disliked and/or overlooked. If Alien isn't going as fast as City, it'd take a year to get rid of SYL copies. It has classics for sure, just isn't consistent like the "prime" two.

P.S.: Listened to HAARHT (from the die soft set) a few weeks ago - by far and away the most definitive master of that album. It absolutely crushes and mauls despite the production sounding like the whole band was recorded with two damaged SM57s. So happy it was done total justice... the whole second side is just so fucking vicious. Guitar re-recording could have made it sound like City if Daniel Bergstrand had gotten his hands on it when the tapes were still around.

Ever considered pressing the live portion of No Sleep 'Till Bedtime? I fuckin' love it just as much as the studio records, it has a natural split point between OMFG and SYL, and the versions of those two plus ITRS are definitive!

Hm, get your point. But WANT lists are high on Discogs for all the albums it looks like, even HAARHT, and that was the slowest to sell in loose copies.

No interest in No Sleep - sorry. I'm only aiming to keep stuff in print that I've already done, no interest in doing any new releases. I did my time on that front, now just working with new bands.

No Golden Hotdog 'Til Bedtime. :-p

It makes sense keep "City" in print, especially if you can get distribution to take a load off your hands. It's an absolute classic that will always pique new interest. As for the others, it depends if you've got the storage space to keep them as they trickle out.

I'd say why not go for all of them?
SYL has a pretty decent cult following that's probably still growing daily. Plus all the added 'Dev-Heads' that are just discovering his early works.
Might be worth a shot.
And at least you know I'll buy them. Again. Wink

Didn't get the box myself back in the day as I'm not that big of a SYL fan. Got Alien and City as separate releases, though, and would definitely like the rest as well.

Still waiting to hear if the label will let me license City AGAIN, so I'll take it from there and make a decision on what else if any.
