How bout them Agallochs? Let us know when you've had a chance to listen and if you have any other cuts to compare them against.

I just realized I posted on the wrong thread haha. Anyway, I only have the latest Pale Folklore on white vinyl they did a couple years back and the VivaHate box on black vinyl. I will do some side by side over the weekend and report back.

Metal-Fi did an analytical article about the Agalloch pressing comparisons. It's fairly informative, but way too short. I will also take the time to compare to my other copies; I've got a real affinity for The Mantle (which isn't to say I'm unique in that respect) and have listened to the record analytically many times since it first came out. There'll be a lot of paragraphs.

Bummer, at least the print was the pale folklore cover which I really don't care much about.

Cool, a comparison with the box would be preferable, it doesn't have to be too in-depth just wondering how these sound next to it. I already have that Pale Folklore pressing so just curious about Ashes and The Mantle. Thanks guys for whenever you get a chance!

I will keep that Agalloch conversation in here, I am happy to report that Pale Folklore sounds INCREDIBLE. Like, the guitar picking at the beginning is super clean, the female voice is more prominent, the drums sound clearer too, you can tell how weird the playing style on that one is (was it Haughm or Greene? can't remember who did those then). So yeah I am happy with that one. I will report on the other 2 when I get a chance to do a side by side.
