And I got to admit I kind of think most of the albums I consider to be 10/10 have reached that score over a relatively lengthy period of time. To me, they need to stand the test of time. I guess I'd be a shitty reviewer, I probably could never give an album full points until after an year or so later

You're spot on there! New records could never get a 10/10 from me - I think. There's always room for improvement, unless the record stands the test of time, in which case the possible imperfections may just work for its advantage.

And yes, this discussion should be in that thread, so let's bury it
