There is a documentary that was just released on Netflix titled "The Impurest Purple Seed: a sexualized history of Grape farming on Crete" and I highly recommend everyone watch at least the first 15 minutes of it. It follows the life of Fabrizio Lekkas, who is a farmer on the island of Crete, through his daily routine of managing his crop but also delving into the much more sordid and questionable back drop plaguing the isle and its inhabitants: unsatisfiable dendrophilic lust. It is a two hour long documentary so it is an investment of patience but I can attest to the importance of it and how it is a stark reflection of our modern society. Unquestionably this is one of the greatest documentaries from the last decade, perhaps ever. Such is the importance of the Impurest Purple Seed, it cannot be understated.
