Today's arrival: Deathspell Omega – Diabolus Absconditus
Hilariously, it appeared on their bandcamp just the other day. They must have reissued it. Go buy! Two of their best songs ever.
Yep, the latest Peaceville press. Only had time to listen to side D ("Turn Loose..."/"Black God") so far. The drums pop even more forward than in the CD master (the first one) but I would say that would happen no matter what was done with the mastering. Noiseless press, at least on that side anyway, and faithful to the original. What would make it sound better? The mix befits destructive analogue playback better than digital anyway, imo. Same with any of the early Peaceville 3 recordings; digital is just slightly too... brittle? So I suppose I'd be happy with any press as long as it wasn't excessively noisy or flat.

the latest peaceville reissue? how's that one sound? it's been on my shopping cart forever but I already have that 10 year old CD reissue so I'm not sure unless someone tells me it sounds better.
