Deicide, Prince of death metal. I remember something similar. Googled a bit and found Rumba's gig review from 2011, and it says that he finally made it here on the sixth attempt.
I can't say that I've been a huge follower of Prince, but my father likes his work and as a comic book fan the first Batman's soundtrack has been carved in my consciousness. Can't deny his importance to the whole music scene. Respect.
