Was already disappointed by the previous album. It had a couple of cool moments, but they were a clear minority. Haven't really bothered to check Trips due to obvious reasons so kinda relieved to hear I haven't missed on anything. On the other hand 'tis a shame, earlier albums were nothing short of amazing.

Another great ambient band:

Will there be a vinyl release?

Happens to me quite often too, although I love the band! I just remember that 'Yeah, they're great' but when I throw it on I'm all like What the F*CK, why don't I listen to this shit more often? 'Blam!' describes the effect quite accurately  Smile

Inspired by this, I'll switch on Atma at work now. It's the album I have least listened to, so it's a good place to start.

Edit. Scratch that. I'll put on the whole discography back to back so that I have a good playlist until 8PM when I get off today. I hope I don't sing out loud here, haha Scheidt's deep bellow is so infectious ...time to wake up...

Talking about listening to music while at work: Senking (electronic Ambient) is one of my favorite artists when it comes to that.

Found these yesterday. They've been claimed as dark-/doomjazz and frankly it reminds me of Ulver getting jazzy. Can anyone recommend something similiar to this? The whole genre seems surprisingly little and well hidden.

Haven't listened to any but Kilimanjaro Dark Jazz Ensemble is a thing, IIRC.

EDIT: Lmao... Probably should've clicked on the link first.

Have you tried Dale Cooper Quartet & The Dictaphones? Parole de Navarre and Metamanoir are favorites of mine. Of course Bohren & der Club of Gore and maybe Bersarin Quartett to name a few. There aren't too many bands doing this as you said and I have never delved too deep into it, so I had never listened to this Kilimanjaro thing before and I am loving it!
black vinyl can always wait.
