Ha, thanks! That one's a remaster I did a month or so ago so no one's listened to that. Not that there's much more on Bandcamp either though, hah.

I've mainly had Those Poor Bastards on rotation. They play "doom country" (not at all related to doom metal). I find their music uplifting despite the morbid quality of it, which is mainly because it's also very satirical. Although the satire is sometimes discardable/discarded on more somber songs. I highly recommend diving into the lyrics if you're going to check these guys out; it's a key part of the atmosphere. Here's a track:

Spinning the new Oranssi Pazuzu here and there. Seeing them live last month was fantastic. I'll be seeing them again at Roadburn next week; stoked!

I found synthwave music just a couple of months ago, and it's been blowing me away, esp. the darksynth stuff. I'm finding this year to be kind of disappointing on the metal front of things, compared to last year.

I randomly stumbled across Plebeian Grantstand's last album on a search through bandcamp. It was interesting stuff. I have that same link open in my browser for listening throughout the day. Funny I (re)discovered them again yesterday too.

Yesterday I also came across this Icelandic band called Zhrine. They reminded me of Gorguts and Der Weg Einer Freiheit a bit. Great use of dynamics (that intro song builds to such a climax) and good use of clean, heavy, growl and more black metal vocals.

I pre-ordered the album after 3 songs.

I've been exploring bands that I SHOULD've listened to a long time ago, so I've been checking out these three albums a lot lately:

Fugazi - End Hits
Minus The Bear - Menos El Oso
Pig Destroyer - Terrifyer.

Also, speaking of Gorguts, don't they have an EP to be released soon? I'm so stoked.

I like Plebeian Grandstand - I talked to them about signing. They were interested but didn't want to leave their label, and I didn't want to do a split label release again (they're just too hard, too many cooks in the kitchen). So, we left it as it is.

Gorguts do have a new EP coming, sounds great so far.

Fuckin A! I'll have to check it out soon.

Anyone ever check out this black-y folk.. Sometimes ambient band called Stara Rzeka? I haven't listened to their newest album in full yet, but it sure seems interesting.
