Emo / Post-Hardcore / Screamo thread - DarcX - 04-09-2016 I can't be the only one in this forum who digs genre cluster. What's been going on in your ears along this vein of music? I've been listening to Riala by Suis La Lune a bit recently. Really well-done screamo-y post-hardcore. I cannot wait for Touché Amoré's new album either. RE: Emo / Post-Hardcore / Screamo thread - hugo - 04-09-2016 not a huge fan of the genre but I do love me some Touché Amoré. Any similar recommendations? I tried to get into Appleseed Cast and even bought the ltd black vinyl repress of Mare Vitalis but heard it once and didn't do anything for me, now it's collecting dust. Emo / Post-Hardcore / Screamo thread - DarcX - 04-09-2016 I haven't checked out The Appleseed Cast yet. La Dispute's first album "Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair" is a masterpiece imo. Just a very uniquely constructed album, but it's undeniably post-hardcore/emo-y. I'm not a fan of their later efforts though. mewithoutYou gets a lot of attention, but nothing from their catalog has caught my interest. That Suis La Lune album I mentioned in the OP is impressive. It's pretty similar to TA, though the vocals are bit less accessible. They have some beautiful instrumentation at moments. Loma Prieta's album IV is insane. It's really just hardcore at that point tho lol. Pianos Become the Teeth's first two albums are great, emotional. Messes has an album called Don't Be A Let Down (Letdown?) that I love. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. RE: Emo / Post-Hardcore / Screamo thread - hugo - 04-09-2016 I did get the mewithoutYou special edition of their latest, and I LOVED it. I tried to go see them live last year but a bunch of teenagers beat me to it and it was sold out by the time I got to the venue . I would have been one of the oldest people there haha (I'm 35).

I think they toured with Into It. Over It., which is an emo band I've yet to check out in full. The single wasn't anything to get me excited tbh. RE: Emo / Post-Hardcore / Screamo thread - Kvlt-Mart - 04-10-2016 At some point you'll discover I'm the Mod that the others have been plotting to murder in my sleep for years now. My album of the year for 2015 was Senses Fail's "Pull the Thorns From Your Heart". RE: Emo / Post-Hardcore / Screamo thread - Blood Music - 04-10-2016 You can like whatever you want, man, I don't think we mind, haha. That was a good album tbh. I don't listen to it anymore but I was impressed. |
