I have an antigripe. I lost a package in mail for the second time ever. The Discogs seller had a receipt that he had sent it. There was no reason to give me my money back, as it's not his responsibility after shipping. He gave me a full refund of €65 this week without me even asking it or any compensation. I was stunned!

Gripe: Sold an item on Discogs to someone in Greece. After a month it didn't arrive, she asks me for a refund despite EXPLICITLY AGREEING to my seller terms that say if something goes missing it's the buyers fault if they don't ask for tracking and insurance. She opens a PayPal claim, and even though I provide proof of posting and screenshots from Discogs, this week PayPal rule in her favour!

Now I'm down a blu-ray and £25. What's the fucking point in having seller terms on Discogs if PayPal just fucking ignore them? Cunts.

Has Paypal ever sided with a seller? It seems very rare, if ever. Paypal's motto nowadays seem to be "the buyer is always right". The problem is they forget there are two people involved in a transaction. In my experience, the seller is rarely wrong, unless he's a scammer and that is usually pretty obvious.

If I were you Doogz, I would change my Discogs terms to mandatory tracking for those countries where the postal system is unsafe and untrustworthy.

Yes, I have been sided with several times as a seller. And sometimes PayPal sides with the buyer but in a not very favorable judgment. I've also had it where PayPal sided with both of us since the buyer was technically right under their terms but wrong on a 'moral level,' and I bring them so much business and have so few check marks against me that they just said 'okay' and gave me back most of the money.

Being a one-off seller/buyer on PayPal for sure gives you less recourse but even with me, they still run me through the mill.

They sided with me earlier this year when someone returned an item for refund, but it never arrived. The guy returning the item didn't have proof of postage so never have a chance of winning.

Yup. Already changed it so anywhere outside the UK has to have tracked and insured shipping.

Obviously that immediately makes my items less attractive on Discogs, especially with UK currency being bummed in the markets, but wotsa geezer gonna do? :-)

I would sell that cheapo stuff without the tracking need. Probably not a big sting if you sell a CD for 4 pounds and it gets lost vs an LP and being out 40. The chances of mail getting lost is in my opinion very very slim anyway. Although in my experience, CDs get lost more than LPs.

CD: £1. With £20 shipping. :-p

Gripe: When you get a new white shirt, throw it in the laundry, and it comes out slighlty pinkish because there was a red piece of clothing in there. Especially when that red shirt has never bled color before in the past seven years you've had it.

Spoilers: It was a white Skeletonwitch shirt

RE: Gripe Thread - Doogz - 08-02-2016

Anyone else get that blue/grey Black Crown Initiate 2LP?

Mines got a big fucking scratch across the first track on Side C. :-(

Is it just my copy, or is this a pressing flaw?
