RE: Live Shows - Slrfyr - 12-08-2016 Just seen Violent Magic Orchestra and Vampillia (+2 local support bands) in Munich and oh boy was that an amazing show! Both great bands live, sadly Vampillia played quite few of their softer / calm songs. VMOs show was intense as fuck, weird setting (strobe lights during the whole set, no drummer, lots of noise) but it worked out amazingly well. Would recommend if you're into that kind of music! RE: Live Shows - Aldhissla - 01-31-2017 I'm seriously considering to go here:
RE: Live Shows - kadaver - 02-03-2017 Caught my first Carpenter Brut show a couple weeks back. Awesome as expected. Live band adds a little, but I don't think it makes that much of a difference. I saw DwtD in a really small joint in Belgium several months ago and they only occasionally bring out the guitars, but it was constant energy with them anyway. Next up Triptykon, and then probably Roadburn. Unless I decide to catch A Forest of Stars next week. RE: Live Shows - Godflesh - 02-03-2017 Thinking about Spiritus Mortis, Primordial and Moonsorrow. Not together. RE: Live Shows - hugo - 02-04-2017 cult of luna is teasing a US tour for Mariner. Oh my... I hope they come to north texas. I saw Primordial in Tuska last summer and while i dig their stuff alot, the show was quite the mediocre there. Though the venue wasn't quite the catch with big outdoor main stage with sun shining bright above on 13 p.m. or something. Dark club with lots of smoke and little light might do more justice to their music. RE: Live Shows - Blood Music - 02-05-2017 Tuska is definitely an unfortunate venue for checking out a lot of bands for that reason. I've seen so many shows there with 0 atmosphere cause it's blasting daylight and the wrong kind of band. The best shows there have always been the ones in the smaller tent or small building - if they still do those. Although still just to be honest I find a lot of black metal boring live. It totally lacks the atmosphere of the albums when you have a bunch of goofy guys in front of you standing still with runny corpse paint. It depends on the band and the sound, but I've seen quite a few black metal bands who I think rip on record just kinda stand around and look like dudes and take away the mystique entirely. I think in general many metal bands lack that some atmosphere live. You know, something that you really came to see there. Some bands you just go to see and when someone asks you about them after the show all you can say is "yea, it was an gig i think". RE: Live Shows - Aldhissla - 02-10-2017 Booked my accomodation for the Dark Easter Metal Meeting, so that's definitely happening. Also, Zuriaake is coming to my town by the end of May. Yayness. Though I'd have to go to Steelfest in Finland to see them. :-) RE: Live Shows - Blood Music - 02-10-2017 Caught Hexvessel last night, pretty good stuff. |
