RE: Release News / Pre-orders - Blood Music - 07-23-2016 (07-22-2016, 10:10 PM)seasonsinthesky Wrote:(07-22-2016, 05:50 PM)Blood Music Wrote: I don't know how those places miss those obvious errors, but I pay extra (lots of extra) on every pressing to QC before the final shipment goes out. I just paid an extra 150 EUR to QC the GosT record before release. Oh sure, but isn't this an age-old human thing? People buy 10k cars that need tons of TLC instead of just going all in on a 20k car that will work like a warhorse. They're trying to cut corners and hoping it'll pan out in the long run. It might, it might not. I'd rather save myself the extra energy and embarrassment. I have caught tons of problems when QC'ing which has led to repressing many parts before they went to public. I am quite convinced that most of the larger labels are just interested in the medium as a device for transmitting the material (and bringing in revenue) and not actually in the medium itself. RE: Release News / Pre-orders - seasonsinthesky - 07-23-2016 True enough, J. They could have saved a lot of money if there were no problems. That was their gamble, I guess. You're definitely right about NB not giving a shit about the medium – if it didn't make bank, they'd not be bothering at all. However, there are other similarly-sized labels who do (besides you), like the Kscope/Burning Shed setup. I also think Inside Out/Century Media have gone all-in on vinyl, just not without mistakes. Weird how that worked. Release News / Pre-orders - anomynous - 07-23-2016 (07-23-2016, 05:59 AM)hugo Wrote: I absofuckinglutely loved EPICLOUD. Z2 got dumped next to Deconstruction on albums I will listen to when there is nothing else. I got this one since I'm still a fanboy. Epicloud = good Epiclouder = crap Z2 = crap Sky Blue = Good 50% average right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Release News / Pre-orders - hugo - 07-23-2016 Someone who got an advance copy of Trascendence at the hevydevy forums said this sounded more like Terria than Epicloud, so we'll see, might be a good one. RE: Release News / Pre-orders - hugo - 07-25-2016 40 Watt Sun newest up for PO at the bands webpage! Svart will have it up soon, I guess. £42 ppd for a vinyl is just too rich for my taste. RE: Release News / Pre-orders - Godflesh - 07-25-2016 I wasn't too keen on the new material live, so I'm not sure I'll jump on it. I'll see about it later. RE: Release News / Pre-orders - seasonsinthesky - 07-25-2016 Preorders are up for the first run of Anata – The Infernal Depths of Hatred, a seriously crackin' album never pressed before. RE: Release News / Pre-orders - Blood Music - 07-25-2016 Oh wow, that's a name I haven't heard in a long time. RE: Release News / Pre-orders - hugo - 07-25-2016 Welp, 40WS clear copies are GONE! Hopefully Svart kept some copies to sell themselves. RE: Release News / Pre-orders - Blood Music - 07-25-2016 Gotta be honest, I was really looking forward to it but that teaser didn't do anything for me.
