I'm curious about this art exhibit thing that they're doing. I remember seeing a behemoth gig many years back. By far one of the roughest pits I've been in. I remember seeing a guy get his head smashed on a monitor at the front of the stage. He came up to me and asked whether the piercing in his bottom lip was still there. It had been ripped out and the bottom lip was completely split in half! I said dude go to hospital and he said, after behemoth finish. RE: Live Shows - Ferag - 04-09-2016 Saw Iron Maiden last Friday with my brother. An awesome show! Next Monday is Kalmah in Montreal. Too bad I didn't buy The Black Waltz vinyl, I could have tried to ask the promoter if they agree to for them to sign it. Will wait for Perturbator to come here for that haha! Amon Amarth at the end of the month as well. April is quite busy in term of metal shows in Montreal
RE: Live Shows - Blood Music - 04-09-2016 I plan to clear out the USA overstock soon, and I think there might be a Kalmah or two in there, but I can't say when I'll do it cause it's only when I get time (haven't had enough of it lately), and that'll be after the gig ... sorry! RE: Live Shows - Seasonreaper - 04-10-2016 Going to see Cult of Luna performing Somewhere Along the Highway in full (plus a few other songs) on Monday, cannot wait. I saw them back when they were touring for the release of Eternal Kingdom and they were amazing, plus finished their show with Dark City, Dead Man then. Hearing that masterpiece again is something I am anticipating heavily. I will have to jump on this one if there is some left..... Eh no worries about the gig, just happy to be able to see them!
RE: Live Shows - Emplate - 04-11-2016 Going here this Friday: https://www.facebook.com/events/146121479111108/ Remissions, Death Toll 80k, Rutsa and Sick World are all relatively unknown bands to a larger audience, but still a good lineup for a gig in a small town like Joensuu. Remissions is a great metal-infused hardcore band, Death Toll 80k delivers some punishing grindcore and Rutsa is a new group which plays a dirty mixture of sludge and grind. Really awesome stuff! Sick World is the only one with no releases under their belt, but I know these guys, and their other bands such as Night Lives and Rusto are pretty great, so I'm expecting some class A hardcore. RE: Live Shows - Seasonreaper - 04-13-2016 Just got back from Cult of Luna and just, wow. I've seen them before but their show was bloody amazing, plus they played Waiting For You which is one of my overall favourite songs of theirs. Combined with the entirety of Somewhere Along the Highway, I: The Weapon and Echoes, I think that might well have been one of the best setlists of any band I've ever seen. Supports Moloken and Bossk were both pretty great, too, shall have to look into them. RE: Live Shows - Ferag - 04-15-2016 Kalmah was amazing in Montreal. I heard Amon Amarth are very good too... I remember when I saw Kalmah for the first time in Tuska 2008. They had absolutely magnificent speeches in between the songs with all these stupid jokes that often rhymed as well. In Finnish of course. Too bad I don't really remember them but I found this video that has one in it. That clip would translate to something like "We are Kalmah and we are going to sink you into a swamp by your neck with a sack on your head! Why a sack? So that mosquitos won't eat." I'd say the catch here is that Finnish words sound somewhat similiar (a sack = säkki, mosquito = sääski, eat = syö) so it makes this funny feeling when they spoken immediately after each other (especially when he added emphasis to different parts with different tones) so obviously the effect isn't as strong in English. What's better they didn't have a single serious speech where they would compliment the audience or anything the whole gig, just these jokes.
