RE: Releases 2016 - Doogz - 10-14-2016 Argh... just checked my bank balance... fuck all. I hope there's still some IM and Scum left on payday... :-( RE: Releases 2016 - InterzoneagentN - 10-14-2016 Just managed to get one of the last Orange Dan Terminus records! I would have loved to have gotten the splatter but I had to wait until payday. At least I got a colored vinyl. Now I just have to wait for Sleepytime's release. RE: Releases 2016 - Lanttu - 10-15-2016 I think I'm going to skip all color variations this time and stick with black ones. That in mind I'm glad I didn't place my order immediately yesterday morning when I noticed these had gone on sale. As much as I'd love to order straight from Blood Music, I think I'm going to use Levykauppa Äx this time. They will have all four albums and while they might 10 euros more expensive in total, I will save 20 euros in postage fees. Add in their stupid stamp system (I hate those...) and total saving will be almost 20 euros. Haven't made my mind up about Irreversible Mechanism yet though. RE: Releases 2016 - Blood Music - 10-15-2016 Thanks interzoneagent! All good Lanttu.
RE: Releases 2016 - Lanttu - 10-15-2016 By the way, can you give any price spoilers about upcoming Perturbator gig? I'm wondering if I should add Dynatorn's EP for 22 euros (would bring 2 more stamps, worth 3,4 euros). I'd rather get black than swirl (which I guess you were saving some copies for gig) as well.I'm so happy this year is almost over and you'll take a break. My wallet needs it. At this point I think at least half of my music spendings have gone to Blood Music releases. Luckily Sleepytime Gorilla Museum isn't my cup of tea so I should be safe for a while. There are a number of releases that I have missed out on in the past and I don't want to continue that trend. Releases 2016 - DarcX - 10-18-2016 Good news for me! Sort of. In anticipation of the SGM pre-orders rolling out later this year (I'm pretty confident despite no confirmation), I'm listening to their catalog again. Finished their debut last night and realized I'm content with not owning that one. It had more filler than I remember. Half-way through their second, and... damn. Mmm I can understand seeing parts of their first album as filler, but in the end I feel like Ablutions, The Stain and Sunflower all still have their place on the album. They are just a bit more challenging then the rest of the release especially when compared to tracks like Powerless or Sleepytime. Just like many other albums there are tracks that I'm draw to more then others and certainly those three songs are the ones I listen to the least on the Grand Opening and Closing but I considering the complexity of the works I still have a hard time seeing them as filler, more like experiments for future works. But I'm also a die hard fan for Sleepytime. They were all super friendly people to meet, their logo was my first tattoo and I saw them preform more times then any other group aside from Swans. I am patiently waiting Free Salamander Exhibit to release something, which I know is due some day, as well as the final Sleepytime album: The Last Human Being. Come on Nils, Dan and you other dinguses! Finish these albums already! This reminds me: Dr. Blood, will the first Sleepytime album also include More Time and Flinch from the rereleased version of the Grand Opening and Closing or will it just end with Sunflower? Releases 2016 - DarcX - 10-18-2016 Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the sounds of the filler-like middle of the album. It was just too much for me. The explosive moments on that album are absolutely amazing but the amount of softer moments doesn't justify it for me. The second album used softer moments much more effectively imo.
