Otherwise rap/hip-hop is really unknown territory for me. I've always thought that there could definitely be something for me to enjoy there, but I just haven't found it yet. So still being kind of open minded towards it, unlike many other fellow metalheads. Therefore, if someone could recommend some really good bleak and atmospheric rap/hip-hop, it would be much appreciated
Listened to that the other day as well, or at least that track. Their "Mezzanine" is something that is recommended to me a lot.
I'm fairly unfamiliar with rap and hip-hop as well. Despite Eminem being one of the first artist I got into when I was a boy, hah. Then came a horrible nu-metal phase and a lot of not even bothering to check out music before I finally became too "trv kvlt" to enjoy anything else. Genres like synthwave and doom country opened things up a bit and made things less monotonous. On-topic, I was recommended these guys by a friend, who is simultaneously in love with Deathspell Omega, not too long ago:
edit: And I just noticed these guys were already mentioned in the very first post, haha.
