Yeah, I had the same problem. And if I'm being very honest I have a hard time getting into GosT. :d Maybe there's a bit too much Justice worship going on, but lately I'm getting more into him. Still, my favorite track off of Behemoth is the Perturbator remix. :p

Carpenter Brut's best track, by miles, is 'Le Perv'. That's the song that really got me into him anyway. All of his stuff is pretty good though. Other favorites of mine are 'Disco Zombi Italia', 'Roller Mobster', 'Sexkiller on the Loose', 'Hang'em All', 'Divison Ruine', 'Turbo Killer' and 'Anarchy Road'. Btw... the quality of the 'Turbo Killer' video... damn.

Must admit, I'm one of those guys who's gotten into synthwave in the last couple of years due to Hotline Miami. Whilst I've been a fan of Vangelis and John Carpenter for years (got JC's Lost Themes recently actually, it's so good), hearing all those sweet tunes whilst slaughtering Russian mafia just worked so well for me, so I decided to look further into the scene.

And I found tons to love. Perturbator is likely my favourite of the lot, both Dangerous Days and I Am the Night are phenomenal records and I'm really hyped for Uncanny Valley. I'm impressed with Dan Terminus' work as well, plus GosT's off to a great start. Naturally I bought all of those albums from Blood Music when I realised they were releasing them, although only on CD as I'm not huge into vinyl (not yet anyway, been contemplating it recently, I may well regret not attempting to grab some of those Pert releases). Outside of BM releases, Dance with the Dead, Trevor Something, Magic Sword and Carpenter Brut all interest me, and I'll be looking out for future releases by them. And let's not forget Dynatron, either. Dead Astronauts are also worth a mention, although the Pert remixes are more of interest to me than their original material, as good as it is.

So yeah, synthwave is a relatively new thing, but it's lovely.
Resident melodeath/post-metal & rock/synthwave/j-pop fan.

Here's some Russian darksynth that got a lot of plays from me:

"Maniac Lover is a sci-fi and retro-futurism inspired dark retrowave musical project combining vintage synth sound with modern agressive tones and rhythms. Conceived by Moscow-based studio "Geek Pilot Soundworks", it is a tribute to the darker side of modern synthwave musical scene."

I'll be curious to see the reaction of those who haven't gotten GosT's 'sound' before on the new record. The sonics are there, but it's structured very differently IMO. Really, I can't compare it to any other album, I don't know another one that sounds or flows like it. Eager to get some of it out there, but all in due time. Big Grin

You folks interested in John Carpenter's adventures? He has another volume of Lost Themes coming out in a week or so.

He also rocks your socks off in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TRj6Dt2lrA

Maniac Lover could be onto something in the future - interesting stuff.

I must admit, there is another darksynth artist coming - not yet announced. I don't think anyone will expect it. Just waiting for contract to arrive by post and will get the info out there in next couple weeks.

If I had to guess which artist I'd probably say Reznyck because of the close relations to Perturbator and Dan Terminus. Big Grin

If any of you haven't checked out his stuff yet, he's got some thoroughly enjoyable EPs (Shock Doctrine has both a Perturbator as well as a Dan Terminus remix!):

I present to you - The Storm Is Coming - my darksynth project that I formed with two of my friends.
Here is a teser for the upcoming album - Anno Apparatus - which will be released soon, we are working on the cover art and once it is done we will publish everywhere where it is free Wink
Enjoy!
