I've been meaning to do that as well, but I've managed to list something like 1/4 of them in 5 years. I think.

I can't recall the exact time it took me to enter all my collection (back then 1500 titles), but it was around 4-5 months at roughly 5-10 hours a week. If the versions you own are already on there, it shouldn't take much time. Of course when you have stuff that few people have, chances are you'll need to add them and THAT is time consuming. I had quite a few obscure Québec bands that no one knows about...
Oh, one more thing. If you're a bit of a detail freak like me, you'll want to stay away. There are plenty of errors and submissions done very badly. The urge to correct everything is pretty hard sometimes!

I feel the same way about Rate Your Music. I've got pretty much everything cataloged there, but I know some of my issues have errors, and it drives me crazy! I've thought about making the switch to discogs, but it would take me way too much time to re-enter everything.
