I've only seen them once, back in 2011, one night before I also saw Radiohead. No access to earplugs because I decided at the last minute. Tinnitus started. Radiohead ruined. No regrets.

Whoo, I just managed to correct my mistake and got myself a ticket to sold out Carpenter Brut gig next saturday. I guess I should listen some of those other artists now too.

Learning from my mistake of letting Carpenter Brut sell out, I bought my Perturbator ticket when they were at around half gone. Managed to nag enough about them to get 4 friends buy them as well.

I seriously hope next time will be at some better venue than Ääniwalli though. Maybe it was overcrowding but Perturbator's gig there last autumn didn't leave too good of an impression. Judging by that I'd rate it 3/5 at tops.

Also I really hope this genre and these artists keep on growing at least partially as much as this past year (Perturbator selling out in 3 months vs 2 days, even if less tickets available) so there'd be a chance to see them outside Helsinki as well. I already said to Lutakko's (Jyväskylä) promoter half jokingly that he should try and book Perturbator next time he comes over if this grow was to happen. He didn't even bash the idea, rather wondered who has booked this stuff to Helsinki (and does this in Finland) in the first place.

The sad fact of the matter is that there are a bunch of clubs around similar size, and they all feel crammed and have messed up vantage points when sold out (I've been to Nosturi and Virgin Oil both when sold out and it's rough). We didn't know how a second gig was gonna go (I mean, I anticipated 500 tickets sold but not even MORE interest than last time). So, we booked Ääniwalli cause it fits more people than almost any club and also has a killer sound system.

There was only one club we found with larger size that could've accommodated this (Circus). It's also pretty rough when super packed (was when I saw Devin Townsend there). We would've considered moving this over there when we found it was so popular, but it's already booked by Katatonia, so no luck. No other serious option we could find.

As far as who books it, the shows are co-run by myself and Flashback Future, however I do the booking end of things on these. I already tried looking into a follow-up date here, but it was shot down by Perturbator's main booker, so we got what we got.

Katatonia played Mexico City last night in front of 2,500 people, that must have been nice for them. Last time they played there (I attended) they played at the same venue but they used the lobby area instead, so it was like 500 and I don't think it sold out.

Wow! How the fuck was there such a shift?

I was wondering if we should trade venues with them as they still have tickets on sale, but I have no idea how that works, plus the club our gig is in is not as easily accessible by public transportation as the one they're at and it's generally more for electronic music, as the one they're at is usually for rock type stuff.

So, Swallow the Sun is playing here in December with Dark Tranquillity AND in April with Amorphis. Got tickets to both dates now!

Bought me a last minute ticket to go see Black Sabbath tomorrow. I have not seen them live since 1999 so it should be good.
