Love this album!  Can't wait to see the final item.

Woohoo! This one's been a long time coming!

RE: Grey Aura - Blood Music - 04-22-2016

Yeah far too long. Rïcïnn has also been in the works for a couple years.

Absolutely love the instrumentation, 10/10 stuff. Unfortunately, I can't really get into the vocals. I'll definitely give the albums a full listen when they're released but in terms of metal I much prefer instrumental songs to those with lyrics. Good stuff though!

Oh wow, there isn't a lot of instrumental metal out there, I think. You must love Cloudkicker though?

As someone who's very picky about vocals, I feel ya. I've just learned not to care so much about unappealing vocals. Sometimes the music's too good to let the vocals bother. For example, it took me a long time to get used to Sólstafir or Drudkh (Handful of Stars in particular). There's still bands like Behemoth that I just can't bring myself to enjoy completely because of the vocals. It's dumb as hell but, eh.

On topic, I really liked Bedrog. Makes waiting for the album even harder, hah. Zero regrets having preordered.

very much look forward to the album Smile

Listened to the track the other day. I also have to comment on the vocals, but from a different perspective, I guess. The recited, Dutch vocals, are kind of off-putting to me. It's more because I don't think the (my) language is particularly beautiful to listen to.

Either way, it's better than trying to use a different language in music, even though you can't pronounce its words properly. Makes me think of this Dutch psychedelic black metal band:

I was enjoying their music, but didn't bother any further with it because of the speech at the start of this song. The Dutch accent just sounds silly.

Maybe I'm nitpicking too much, but I just seem to take it less seriously. Anyone else experience similarly?

I wonder if all the downvotes are of darksynth fans?

RE: Grey Aura - Blood Music - 04-24-2016

There is professional acting throughout the album, it's in Dutch because it's about Willem Barentsz. I don't think it would be sensible at all for a Dutch band to make an English adaptation of a Dutch explorer's journey. I don't think it was meant to be beautiful, haha. At least not in the traditional sense.

Oh, yeah, I know. It just feels a bit too much like a poetry reading to me, that's all.
