RE: Beer Recommendation Thread - Blood Music - 05-13-2017 Yes, beware it was REALLY packed at Sori, hard to get a table on a Friday evening. It's really small. Il Birri is larger. RE: Beer Recommendation Thread - Godflesh - 05-13-2017 It's great that we finally get this kind of places in Finland too. RE: Beer Recommendation Thread - Godflesh - 05-19-2017 Ooooff, cost a fortune, but money well spent. I made an investment and bought 50 bottles of different barrel aged beers/barley wines. Most in the range of 8-13 ABV. For example, Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon 5th Edition, Hoppin' Frog DORIS The Destroyer Bourbon BA, Evil Twin Even More Jesus, Chimay Grande Reserve Oak Aged Edition, Westvleteren 12, La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch, Mikkeller Raspberry Trippelbock Bourbon BA. A whole lotta beers that age well in the cellar. In addition to the other beers I have, now I don't have to leave home for a few years, haha. Except to collect vinyl from the post office. If you're interested, I used these places, because they have decent prices and shipping costs to Finland: belgiuminabox.com speciaalbierpakket.nl (also beergium.com although not that cheap) RE: Beer Recommendation Thread - Godflesh - 05-24-2017 Yess, four-day craft beer festival in Tampere. Yeehaw!! First day almost over. Viikate gig at the end of the fourth day. RE: Beer Recommendation Thread - Blood Music - 05-24-2017 Jealous a bit RE: Beer Recommendation Thread - Godflesh - 06-16-2017 In case you didn't buy the Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon 5th Edition, you should do it now, before it's gone. It's fantastic. Bought another one too and I'll let it mature for a couple of years. You should also place an order at Brewdog before the Abstrakt AB:22 is sold out. And why not grab a couple of other great beers too to take advantage of the shipping costs: the new limited edition Dog F, Cocoa Psycho, Elvis Juice, Brewdog vs. Beavertown - Coffee & Cigarettes, Paradox Rye (can), and To Øl - Sur Motueka (can). And some others too. Edit. Bought yesterday a used fridge that has room for 150 beers that need proper cooling. It's full already, but the incoming boxes of imperial stouts don't need a fridge. And the summer vacation starts on Sunday, and I can start sampling better. Yay! RE: Beer Recommendation Thread - Aldhissla - 07-18-2017 Arrogant Bastard Ale. Nice one from Berlin, although I wouldn't buy it on a regular basis ( too expensive).

RE: Beer Recommendation Thread - Emplate - 08-01-2017 Did anyone else visit the Great Beers - Small Breweries festival at the Helsinki Railway Square? I myself went there on two separate days, 'cause I felt I didn't get to taste enough during one. Found some new favorites like Fat Lizard's Conan Juice IPA, Mufloni Barley Wine by Beer Hunter's and Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout by Pyynikin käsityöläispanimo. It wasn't even too crowded when we went there both days immediately it had opened. A good way to spend summer vacation days, indeed. RE: Beer Recommendation Thread - Godflesh - 08-01-2017 Nah, attended that here in Tampere. And in 2 weeks it's Tulli Beer & Chili Fest here. |
